5 Months

I cannot believe it has been 5 months already! 5 wonderfully amazing months.

I have learned lots about Kyle && I cannot wait to learn more!

♥ chocolate is the way to His heart [not mine] Reeses in particular

♥ He makes me lists to keep me busy and mentally healthy not because it bothers him when I have a mental breakdown but because He wants me to be happy.

♥ I test His patience more often than not, yet He still holds me and tells me He loves me more than this world

♥ He can teach a primary lesson to 7 year-olds that He completely did not prepare for and STILL teach a better lesson than I can with a full week of preparation! [i'm envious]

♥ He is willing to compromise. More than I thought.

I L♥VE my husband. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
Thank you for being patient when I have "slow production" days [a.k.a. unproductive days]

Happy [late] 5 months sugar muffin. [hahahaha]

&& here's to the rest of our lives!

4 MONTHS!!!!... yesterday....

We celebrated our 4 month anniversary yesterday.

With a well-needed vacation out of this heat!

Drove to my favorite place in the world....
[wait for it.... wait for it!...]

TUCSON!
[don't you DARE dog on this native]

In celebration of Father's Day and in memory of Jase,
my mother's side of the family came together for a BBQ!
Grandparents flew in from Texas, aunts and uncles from NM and Kansas!
This was the PLACE TO BE!

It was wonderful.
I love spending time with my family
&& I love being in Tucson![That is four generations right there. Gpa, Mom, Paul, && Hero]

We had Elk burgers,
Took LOTS of pictures, [yay!]
Talked with grandma && grandpa enough that we left with
suthurn axssants

We indulged in EEGEES[only the most amazing restaurant in the state of Arizona]

Slept in hotel beds
[Nothing compares to my water-bed that I love!]

&& we went to the cemetery to say hello to our dear Jase.
[It was his birthday today. 25. quarter of a century.]

We told funny stories
We told sad stories

We shared pictures of the wedding.
We took new pictures to add to our albums.

I am so grateful for traditions.
To have things that tie me back to my history,
&& to my beloved family.

I'm grateful for things that I love && am passionate about.
We took flowers to Jase today && it was wonderful to know that he loved roses so much.
I hope that people remember things like that about me one day....
[i like daisies btw ]

We also took pictures like these on the way down:]now our 4 months is forever documented
[thank you internet!]

Live A Little, Read A Little.

The great Joseph Brodsky once said,
"There are worse crimes than burning books. One of them is not reading them."

I love to read.

I have ever since I was a little girl.

Even before I could read, I would take the story books from my brothers [when they were trying to read to me] && tell them my own story with them.

I skipped grades because of my reading abilities.

I don't read as often as I should anymore.. && it makes me sad.

I am so grateful for my book loving parents.
Who have trained me well in books.

I love their room filled with several bookcases-- each filled to the BRIM with good books.

I am grateful that they are willing to share those books with me, && sometimes even let me keep them.

I am grateful for weekly trips to Bookmans, to trade in the books we bought that kinda sucked for new ones that have amazing potential.

I am grateful for the best tradition with my mom. The one where if we go INTO the bookstore we always walk out with at least one book:]
[I hope I can keep that tradition with my kids]

I love trading books. Sharing what books I love with others.

I love falling so much in love with a book that you stay up all night until it's finished.

Kyle doesn't like books :[
But I have learned that he enjoys me reading to him.
&& so I have learned to love to read to Kyle:]

One day [hopefully somewhere in the new future] I want to get several bookcases for my bedroom and have them full of books I love. I have a ridiculously long master bedroom where I have the perfect reading nook envisioned. I hope this dream can come true. It would be amazing.

I love to love to read!

Sound is what makes the world go round.
I am an addict for white noises. -- the computer running, the washer washing, the fan.
[[I can't sleep without them]]

I love music.
The ability to create a new language with a guitar, a violin, a trumpet.
[[Call me a band geek if you'd like.]]

I would be so sad to never hear again.
Movies aren't as good without the CRASH && BANG && ZOOM!

My cousin && one of my best friends passed away when I was a freshman in High School. It was extremely hard on the whole family, && still brings us to tears from time to time. We had hundreds upon hundreds of pictures of Jase. And we always have one around the house to remember his face. But his voice seemed to be fading from us. It almost felt as if we werent remembering Jase.. just recognizing his face. About a year ago, a friend of his dad's found a video... It had Jase hunting. Jase moving. It had Jase talking.
Hearing Jase's voice immortalized him. Reminded us that he was still with us even if we didn't know it. It was really amazing what a gift that was. [[You can learn more about Jase, my hero && great friend at rememberjase.com]]

I am so grateful for sound. It makes the world complete as I see it. Absolutely wonderful.

10 sounds to remember
1. Kyle's voice
2.Mom & Dad's voices
3. Granparent's voices [[all 6 gma && gpa V, Gma && Gpa Tinsley, && Gma Ann && Gpa bob]]
4. music
5.dad plunking at the piano
6. Kyle's laugh
7. My brothers' laughter together
8. My nieces talking
9. Baby Jase's giggles
10. rain on concrete

I Cried A Little

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds: “What does love mean?”

The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined.
_____

“When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That’s love.”
Rebecca - age 8
_____

“When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.”
Billy - age 4
_____

“Love is what makes you smile when you’re tired.”
Terri - age 4
_____

“Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.”
Danny - age 7
_____

“Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss.”
Emily - age 8
_____

“Love is what’s in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.”
Bobby - age 7
_____

“If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate.”
Nikka - age 6
_____

“Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.”
Noelle - age 7
_____

“Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.”
Tommy - age 6
_____

“During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling.
He was the only one doing that. I wasn’t scared anymore.”
Cindy - age 8
_____

“Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.”
Elaine - age 5
_____

“Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.”
Chris - age 7
_____

“Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.”
Mary Ann - age 4
_____

“I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.”
Lauren - age 4
_____

“When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.”
Karen - age 7
_____

“Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn’t think it’s gross.”
Mark - age 6
_____

“You really shouldn’t say ‘I love you’ unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.”
Jessica - age 8
_____

And the final one…

Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said:
“Nothing. I just helped him cry.”

If this touched your heart like it did mine, go tell someone you love them. && MEAN IT.
